Canonical is poised to build a super-phone and this fact is painfully obvious from the great hardware specifications announced for the device.

Ubuntu Edge will supposedly be able to double down as a PC, if the need arises. This means that the hardware specifications have been a lot higher than those of the usual high-end mobile phones of today.
In order to achieve this, Ubuntu Edge will be fitted with the latest quad-core CPU, probably the best one they will be able to find before starting production, 4GB of RAM, and a whopping 128 GB of storage space.
The phone will also feature a dual LTE antenna, which would make the device compatible with LTE standards in the United States and the European Union, a 1280 x 720 HD display, an 8MP camera optimized for low light, GPS, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, barometer, and pretty much anything else that comes to mind.
Ubuntu Edge will also come with a silicon-anode Li-Ion battery, HD-audio, and the ability to dual boot between Android and Ubuntu OS.
The price for Ubuntu Edge is now $830 (€627), but it's possible that more tempting offers are on their way.
